With more than half of the state’s third graders having experienced cavities, the Tooth Fairy is canvassing the state – primarily virtually – during National Children’s Dental Health Month to help improve the dental health habits of her young friends as they enter their cavity-prone years, and to spur regular dental exams – which were down 17 percent statewide last year for 5-10-year-olds according to Delta Dental claims data.
Throughout the month, the Tooth Fairy will be celebrating with a series of virtual interactive presentations with K-2 classrooms across the state, as well as a virtual public event with Magnolia Public Library and Seattle Parks & Recreation at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17. Register online today!
Also, in partnership with the Northwest African American Museum, three additional public events featuring the Tooth Fairy are being planned, culminating with National Tooth Fairy Day (Feb. 28):
- Wednesday, Feb. 24 (2:00pm – 4:00 p.m.) – Knowledge is Power: Books & Brushes Giveaway
Location: Neighborhood House, 6400 Sylvan Way SW, Seattle, WA 98126 - National Tooth Fairy Day, Sunday, Feb. 28 (beginning at 1:00 p.m.) – Virtual Storytime with the Tooth Fairy: The Clean Teeth Club: A Tooth Fairy Tale
Location: Virtual; simply log onto the Northwest African American Museum’s YouTube channel
